Tested at a university laboratory

USC-tested research peptides

Every production batch in the catalogue is tested by mass spectrometry at the University of Southern California (USC) Alfred E. Mann Multi-Omics Mass Spectrometry Core, a named university laboratory. Each batch is documented with a certificate of analysis that records its identity and estimated purity. Every product is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research.

What third-party testing at USC means

Testing is carried out independently of the catalogue, at a university mass-spectrometry core rather than an in-house or anonymous laboratory. Each batch is analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS / HRMS), and the result is published as a certificate of analysis tied to that batch or lot number.

Two separate questions are answered for every batch. Identity confirms that the molecule present is the one named on the label, by matching the measured intact mass to the mass calculated from the compound’s molecular formula. Estimated purity is reported as the main-peak percentage by area. Both figures sit on the certificate next to the batch number that ties the document to a single production run. The method is described in full on the quality and testing page.

Why a named university lab is different

A certificate is only as meaningful as the laboratory behind it. Naming the laboratory, the method and the batch lets a stated result be traced to its source, rather than being asked to take a purity figure on trust. The certificates are collected in one place and linked from each product page, so the document for the exact batch can be read at any time.

Identity can also be checked independently. Every compound in the catalogue carries its public registry references, a CAS Registry Number and a PubChem compound record, each pointing to one defined substance. Those references are listed on the research papers page so a stated identity can be confirmed against an independent source.

Mass-spectrometry verified, batch by batch

Mass spectrometry measures the mass of the molecules actually present in a sample, which is what makes it suited to confirming identity: the measured mass is compared to the mass calculated from the named compound’s formula. Reported alongside the chromatography, it gives an identity confirmation and an estimated purity for the specific batch that was tested, not a general claim about the product line.

Each documented compound is listed with its CAS reference, batch number, estimated purity, the method used and the testing laboratory in the certificate library, and the certificate is linked from the matching product page.
